Awareness march and Launch of the “Intensified IEC Campaign-3.0” by SSACS

The students of Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College, Tadong participated in the Awareness March and launch of the “Intensified IEC Campaign-3.0” on 12 August 2026, organized by the Sikkim State AIDS Control Society (SSACS), Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Rider Association of Tourism and Environment Protection (RAEP).

The Awareness March commenced from Zero Point, Gangtok, to Ridge Park, followed by the official launch of the campaign at Ridge Park. The programme focused on creating awareness regarding HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), their prevention, and control.

Our students got the opportunity to hear experiences from famous achievers like Everester Manita Pradhan from Soreng, West Sikkim. The ‘Magical 4’ a group of 4 men from Sikkim who have traversed India’s ten highest motorable mountain passes (and seven of the world’s highest) on foot by running to promote environmental awareness and national integration. Mr. Hari Chettri, a living testament of bravery and resilience, who has been living with HIV for the last 21 years.
