The Department of Sociology in collaboration with Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN) Project, National Mental Health Programme, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Sikkim organised the first monthly screening programme under phase 4 on Tuesday, 21st April in the college library. 100 students from the Departments of Commerce and Economics (Honours/Elective) were screened during the exercise. Their respective teachers were also present to guide students during the process.
The screening process was conducted by 12 student screeners from the Department of Sociology under the guidance of four counsellors from the Upper Primary Health Centres (UPHCs), Gangtok and Ranipool. Dr. Nancy C. Lhasungpa, Coordinator, Department of Sociology, NBBGC was present to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.
