Students from the Department of Software Development, NBBGC attend World Youth Skills Day, 2025

Students from the Software Development Department, accompanied by Departmental Teacher Escort, Mr. Dependra Dhakal, attended the World Youth Skills Day event at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok. The programme was graced by Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang Golay. This year, the global theme for the day is “Youth Empowerment through AI and Digital Skills”, which the Chief Minister described as “timely and significant”.

This event highlights the importance of skills development and vocational training in addressing global challenges like unemployment and inequality. World Youth Skills Day, celebrated annually on July 15th, highlights the strategic role of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship. It also provides a platform for dialogue and collaboration between various stakeholders to address youth unemployment and underemployment. The day emphasizes the need to invest in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to empower youth and foster a more sustainable and equitable future.
