On Constitution Day, a momentous ceremony unfolded in Parliament, where President Draupadi Murmu unveiled the translated Constitution in nine languages, including Nepali. It marked a landmark advancement for Nepali-speaking citizens of India, who now have access to their fundamental charter in their own tongue. The significance of this act resonated deeply across the nation, underscoring a commitment to linguistic inclusion and democratic accessibility.<\/div>\n

The reverberations were especially profound for Sikkim. The Nepali version of the Constitution could reach completion only thanks to the tireless contributions of five experts from Sikkim, who traveled repeatedly to the National Translation Mission in Mysuru between 2023 and 2025. The Sikkim-based scholars who lent their expertise were Dr. Sarda Chhetri and Dr. Uday Chettri of Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College, Tadong, Dr. Bidhan Golay of Sikkim University, Gangtok, Dr. Suchan Pradhan of Khangchendzonga State University, Gangtok and Dr. Krishna Kumar Sapkota, also of Khangchendzonga State University, Gangtok. There, they collaborated with peers from across the country to refine and finalize the Nepali translation, ensuring it reflected all current amendments with fidelity and clarity.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
